The History of Wilde Nursery
The land that is now home to Wilde Nursery dates back to the early 1900s, when it was part of the Hurlburt family farm.
Over generations, it has grown into the nursery it is today.
Early Roots
The property’s history dates back to the early 1900s, with historic photos showing the original farmhouse as early as 1921.
In the 1940s, Obert Wilde began growing trees on the family farm, marking the beginning of what would eventually become Wilde Nursery.

Growth & Expansion
Obert’s son, Jim Wilde, grew up working on the property and continued building on what had been started.
In 1971, the business officially became Wilde Nursery.
Under Jim’s leadership, the nursery expanded with additional growing areas and greenhouses, becoming a trusted local source for trees, shrubs, and landscape plants for both homeowners and professional landscapers.

Today & The Future
Following the passing of Jim Wilde, the nursery has continued operating under Jeff Wilde, who was raised working on the property and has spent his life involved in the family business.
Today, the next generation is stepping into the nursery as it continues forward. Brent Wittich, Jim Wilde’s grandson, has begun taking on a larger role as the business evolves.
While Wilde Nursery remains rooted in its history, it continues to grow and adapt to serve a new generation of homeowners, landscapers, and the surrounding community.
